“Stay afraid, but do it anyway. What’s important is the action. You don’t have to wait to be confident. Just do it and eventually the confidence will follow.”

Behind me mE ME

Eunice Thomas MSc

I founded me mE ME with a ‘growth mindset’ at its heart. The name me mE ME is not about me as the business owner but about my clients and how they grow and transform from a small ‘me’ to a bigger ‘ME’ through exploration, reflection, and action.

I specialise in coaching leaders and teams during transitional periods. I often tell people that I’ve experienced two childhoods: the first in Hong Kong, where I grew up, and the second beginning in 2003, when I moved to London after graduation and started my career. The transition from being a student to an adult was a pivotal turning point. To adapt, I had to quickly prove myself professionally and learn to communicate effectively at all levels, all while navigating life in a foreign country. This process of self-development instilled in me a growth mindset. I firmly believe that we are always evolving, both personally and professionally, as we navigate an ever-changing world.

Since 2003, I have worked in various fashion head offices in London, including well-known organisations and small family-run businesses. My career in the fashion industry involved roles that required navigating complex and interdependent workplace relationships. I was both a leader within a team and a team player across the organization, collaborating with diverse stakeholders. I engaged with suppliers as a client and with senior leaders as a staff member. Together, we worked toward organizational goals while striving for individual success. Over the last 20 years, I have witnessed office politics firsthand and experienced the power of being part of a strong team. These experiences sparked my interest in promoting authentic leadership and fostering effective teamwork.

In 2023, I began studying for an MA in Coaching, at the University of Warwick, to refine and deepen my coaching skills, with a special focus on leadership and team coaching. I joined the Association for Coaching to gain a deeper understanding of their competency framework, which has guided me in delivering ethical and effective coaching sessions.

To put the theory into practice, I have continued my volunteer role at Tree Shepherd and have also started volunteering at Christian Aid as a leadership and team coach, aligning with my professional development.

As a strong advocate for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), I am currently researching the topic, How Coaching Empowers Menopausal Career Women’s Self-Efficacy. I believe that more women leaders are needed to embrace diversity in leadership and to contribute different perspectives to business. Women should feel empowered to stay in the workforce as long as they wish, without limitations imposed by menopause. On World Menopause Day 2024, LinkedIn invited me to write a post supporting menopausal career women.

Additionally, since 2022, I have been volunteering as a business coach at Tree Shepherd, a nonprofit organization, where I write blogs for their newsletter, which are also published on this website.
